Sony XDCAM Transfer

Sony XDCAM Transfer is een plug-in voor Final Cut Pro gebruikers en biedt ondersteuning voor alle XDCAM apparatuur (XDCAM en XDCAM EX). Werkt u met Final Cut Pro en XDCAM? Dan is deze gratis tool van Sony bijna onmisbaar!

Ook als u met Avid werkt op de Mac is XDCAM transfer nodig omdat het de drivers biedt welke zorgt dat de Finder (en dus ook Avid) de discs kunnen benaderen.

v. 2.13

What's New:

This version of XDCAM Transfer is qualified to run under Mac OS X v10.7 (Lion). However, this version is still not compatible with Final Cut Pro X (read the associated release note).

Note to Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, or Compressor 4 users:

After installing Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, or Compressor 4, be sure to run Software Update to download and install Pro Apps QuickTime codecs.
This update adds the following video codecs needed by certain Sony products for use by QuickTime-based applications:

HDV
XDCAM HD / EX / HD422
MPEG IMX

This update is recommended for all users of Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, or Compressor 4.

General Notice:
The installer for XDCAM Transfer software version 2.13 no longer installs the Mac i.Link FAM driver. Please download and use the standalone Mac i.Link FAM driver installer.

This version supports the following.
-XDCAM EX420 35Mbps 1440x1080 MP4 format
-XDCAM EX MP4 format 4 channels mono audio
-FinalCutPro 7

[Notes]
-The recommended system requirements do not guarantee real-time playback. The performance of this software will vary depending on the video format of the material, its size, the storage location, and the performance of the computer. Dropped frames, stopped frames, audio gaps, and delays before scrub playback may occur if the performance of the computer is not high enough.

-For large files in MPEG HD format on the XDCAM disc, some time may be required before playback starts.

-In XDCAM Transfer, you can write back the edits to Professional Discs loaded in PDW-U1 XDCAM drive units only when using the XDCAM Drive Software. It is not possible to write back in the following machines which are not supported for the XDCAM Drive Software.
- Intel-based Tiger
- PowerPC-based Leopard
- PowerPC-based Tiger

-The appropriate codec must be installed on your computer in order to preview original material (MXF files).

-To read a clip or disc that contains modified essence marks, use the Fetch Metadata For Source(s)/Clip from the File menu and fetch the information for that clip or disc again.

-Direct full-screen playback is not possible for material on discs loaded in devices that are connected by FAM (i.LINK).
-For the most effective integration between XDCAM Transfer and XDCAM EX Clip Browser, use of XDCAM EX Clip Browser version 1.01 or later is strongly recommended. This can be obtained from the Sony web site. The address of the website can be found on the CD-ROM bundled with the PMW-EX1.

-When performing the deletion of a file in General folder in Finder with a REC INHIBIT disc, it may look like being removed but is not deleted actually.

-FAM connection may not be enabled when reinserting i.LINK cable. In this case you need to restart your Macintosh.

-Do not start XDCAM Transfer while the files are being copied from XDCAM on Finder.

-Do not edit any files directly in the General folder/UserData folder.

-It is not possible to perform the full-screen playback of an MXF file of the original material which resides in UserData Folder via FAM. Also the playback of an MP4 file may not be performed properly.

-The codec for XDCAM EX 720p (VBR 35Mb/s) can also be used for XDCAM HD 720p (VBR 35Mb/s, CBR 25Mb/s).

-XDCAM 1920x540p format is not supported in FinalCutPro6. Please use FinalCutPro7.0 or later.

-Notes for Export operation:
1.When exporting an MXF file of XDCAM HD 422 720 50p/60p to an XDCAM device, you must make a duration of an even number of frames. It is not possible to export in odd number of frames.

2.The MP4 file over 4GB (e.g. the duration is about 14 minutes or more) cannot be exported to an SxS memory card.

3.When an MP4 file is exported directly to an SxS memory card, you must use 11 characters or less in single-width characters as a filename. The exported file also needs to be updated by an XDCAM EX device.

-If you use a USB device, please specify a name for the device. Using as "Untitled" may cause some failure in XDCAM Transfer due to an issue with Mac OS X.

-FAM Driver software bundled with XDCAM Transfer 2.11.0 is not supported in Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

v. 2.10

[Changes in Ver2.10.0]
- Supports Mix Recording mode (Mixed Rec) of XDCAM devices.
- Enables to change the subclip name.
- Enables to edit ASCII Title(Title 1) and write back the metadata to discs.
